Martin Dreyer's "Change A Life Team".
After winning the Duzi Canoe marathon for a seventh time with Michael Mbanjwa, and having seen the raw talented youngsters that would tag along on there training sessions Martin decided to create an Acadamy at Nagal Dam deep in the Umgeni valley in the heart of the Duzi with the aim of getting 10 of the youngsters to finish in the top 50 of the 2009 Duzi Canoe marathon, not only did they do this but 2 finished in the top 10, 8 in the top 20 and 12 in the top 50. That was this year, a K1 Duzi (it alternates every year K1, K2 etc), this year the bar has been set at 3 crews in the top 10(gold medals)

From the beginning Orka Paddles has been involved with the youngsters and I must say of all the paddlers who use the blades this is the most rewarding. So far in the build up races the guys have begun to hit there straps and the results are starting to all is looking good for there goal.

They have a month left of some serious training before the big race, so from me and Orka good luck, run hard, paddle harder and I am sure you will do yourselves proud on the day.
