Notten and Segal star in SA Schools
champs
Wynberg Boys’ High (Cape Town) youngster Dom Notten narrowly held
off a courageous fight by Jordan Zeelie (Grey High, PE) to claim the coveted SA
Schools title. The second edition of the Varsity College SA Schools Surfski
Champs saw 22 boys and girls from around the country take to the water, eager to
test their skills against the best paddlers from within our junior
ranks.

Western Province Inter Schools

Well the question is always asked who will be the next Dawid, Sean, Hank or Oscar. And thanks to Varsity College and the Marine Surf Ski Series we will get a pretty good idea on the 25th of March when it hosts the SA Inter Schools Champs.
This will be the 2nd running of the event and it was great to see the bigger turn out at the Western Province Inter Schools last Friday which served as the trial for the SA leg in Durban on the 25th.

Unlimited Non-Stop Duzi 2011

Last Friday one of the hardest paddling races on the planet took place, the Unlimited Non-Stop Duzi is not only brutal on the body but also on paddling equipment, so it was great for us at Orka Paddles to have so many of the top guys choose Orka when doing this race. Eric Zondi (1st Orka Inner),Nhlanhla Cele (2nd Orka Flex), Kwanda Mhalope & Richard Cele (3rd, Both Orka Flex), Mark Mulder (4th,1st K1 Orka Super Flex). Valley favourites Mbanjwa and Zondi hot favourites to take on The Unlimited
Non-stop Dusi
Durban - Three-time Non-stop champion and valley hero
Michael Mbanjwa has teamed up with last year’s winner and rising talent Eric
Zondi for this year’s The Unlimited Non-stop Dusi on Friday.
Mbanjwa and
Zondi finished third and fourth respectively in The Unlimited Dusi and now will
look to work together as they tackle the no rules, one day ultra marathon from
Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

Mulder takes on The Unlimited Non-stop Dusi single-handedly
Durban - As entries start to
pour into The Unlimited Non-Dusi office in Pietermaritzburg last year's K1
winner Mark Mulder was one of the first to lodge his entry, hoping that
conditions favour racers in single kayaks on tomorrow.
